PSHE
PSHE education helps pupils to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to manage many of the critical opportunities, challenges and responsibilities they will face as they grow up and approach adulthood.
By teaching pupils to stay safe and healthy and by building self-esteem, resilience and empathy, our effective PSHE programme helps tackle barriers to learning, raise aspirations, and improve the life chances of all our pupils.
Across their 7 years at Elstow School, pupils will develop their understanding in a range of areas including:
- Keeping/staying safe
- Keeping/staying healthy
- Being responsible
- Feelings and Emotions
- Relationships and Sex Education
- Health Education
- First Aid
- Online safety
The curriculum will be delivered by the class teacher in dedicated weekly timetabled lessons from Early Years to Year 6. The curriculum content is delivered through 1decision, an online platform endorsed by the PSHE association and fully compliant with statutory DfE guidance.
